We all remember Emmy Rossum for her performance as Christine during 2004 big screen adaptation of the Phantom of the Opera, and after showing us that she can do more than act Emmy Rossum enters the music industry by releasing her first album.Sadly this album scores only a 4 out of 5 for me because of one thing, which is because Joe Corcoran who was behind the digital editing of this album caused the problem for this album. Because in his editing he made it sound too much like Imogen Heap thus making it easy to mistake one of Emmy Rossum's songs for an Imogen Heap song, and because of this the album can not stand out in terms of originality. This is the only problem I can see for this album, and now to move on to the good points. Emmy Rossum took full advantage of the ambient/electornica genre by show casing what she can do. The perfect example is the song "Slow Me Down" where in she uses her voice to replace the usual instruments, and also sings every single one of the 150 parts and harmonies of "Slow Me Down", including some of the percussion. Another song in which she stands out is "Anymore" in this song the main instrument is her voice here we truly get to hear her how beautiful her voice is. This album only proves how talented this artist is, and for sure we will be hearing more from her in the future. I would recommend this album to those into "chill" music, and fans of Imogen Heap . This is another must have for your music library.
